Erik and his team investigate the consequences of explosions and develop new methods to protect people and property from explosive effects. At SRI’s remote test facility, Erik conducts a range of experiments that include characterizing the consequences of fires and explosions, acquiring fundamental data on flammable gas cloud deflagration, and investigating mitigation strategies for protecting vehicles and facilities from explosive events.

Erik holds an M.S. in Hydrogen Safety Engineering from the University of Ulster, and an M.S. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
