Join Our Team of Innovators

Education is critical to our nation's – and our world's – ability to nurture and sustain innovation. Help us guide education policy and practice by joining one of SRI's renowned multidisciplinary education research teams. You will work side by side with education researchers, sociologists, psychologists, political scientists, statisticians, technologists and others to develop solutions to complex challenges and build research-based systems that will advance the quality of teaching, learning, and school-linked social programs.

Government agencies, private foundations, and school districts depend on SRI's evaluations of policies and programs. We identify what really works and facilitate a better understanding of how technology impacts teaching and learning. In addition, SRI helps clients create more innovative, competitive offerings by integrating advances in learning research and technology into product concepts and strategic plans, and by aligning product development with proven learning principles.

Our education work includes

  • Longitudinal education studies: Since 1978, SRI has conducted congressionally mandated longitudinal studies of youths with disabilities to help policy makers and educators improve the U.S. education system.
  • Technology in education: SRI researchers are prototyping new interactive learning environments and tools, exploring best practices, and seeking to understand the mechanisms that lead to better teaching and learning.
  • Teacher professional development: Which policies and investments will guarantee a high-quality teacher for every student? We examine the issues of teacher development – the preparation, induction, and continuing support of teachers.
