Join Our Team of Innovators

From the Cold War to today's war against terrorism, the U.S. government has looked to SRI to meet mission-critical needs for security and defense, from space to land and sea. Join the SRI team and be a part of this proud legacy.

For clients such as the Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, all branches of the armed forces, the National Guard, and the Intelligence Community, SRI contributes to civilian and military readiness to prevent and combat terrorism at home and abroad.

In our laboratories and at client sites, from the strategic to the tactical, SRI is there. Our work includes technologies and programs for border, port, and transportation security; sensing; critical infrastructure protection; intelligence collection and analysis; and combat and emergency readiness training. SRI innovations meet intelligence needs, help achieve military transformation objectives, and offer technologies that detect biological agents.

Our innovations in support of homeland security and national defense include

  • Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Security R&D Center: SRI provides technical, managerial, and administrative support for the Center, which, through industry and government partnerships, develops and fortifies security technology to better protect the U.S. cyber infrastructure.
  • DFIRST: SRI's Deployable Force-on-Force Instrumented Range System uses GPS satellites, high-speed wireless communications, and digital terrain map displays to train armored National Guard combat units during battle exercises.
  • Airborne Position Location System (APLS): The U.S. Army uses ruggedized test equipment from SRI to evaluate tactics and operational procedures for air–dropped cargo pallets and the T-10 troop parachute.
