New Process for Environmentally Friendly, Coal-to-Liquid Fuel

SRI has identified a promising way to produce liquid transportation fuels from coal without consuming water or generating carbon dioxide. SRI estimates capital costs for a full-scale plant using its process would be less than half of a conventional plant. The approach makes it economical to use carbon-neutral electricity, such as nuclear, hydro, or solar as a source of additional energy. More info ››

Development Partnership for Military/Public Safety Communications Systems

SRI and Covia Labs are partnering to develop low-cost, secure communications, network management, and situational awareness systems for the U.S. military, public safety agencies, and commercial companies. Major Funding to Advance Infectious Disease Cures

SRI has been awarded up to $100.5 million over 10 years from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to continue support for the translation of basic research into clinical applications. Since 2006, SRI has worked on more than 100 DMID projects to advance therapeutics for a broad range of infectious diseases, including tuberculosis and malaria. More info ››
