SRI's Instrumentation and Simulation Systems program includes the Joint Training Experimentation Program (JTEP), a joint program of the National Guard Bureau and the California National Guard that creates a realistic environment through the integration of live exercises with computer-based simulators to enhance training for both combat and Military Assistance to Civilian Authority (MACA) missions. SRI also developed the Deployable Force-on-Force Instrumented Range System (DFIRST™), a comprehensive instrumented training system for armored ground combat maneuver and gunnery training.
