Separation Technology-Selective Separation of Paraffins from Olefins
SRI's recent research in separation technology has led to
cost-effective processes for separating compounds that are similar to one
another, such as ethylene and ethane or propylene and propane. Separating
similar compounds is a complex and expensive step in petrochemical production.
SRI focuses on exploiting the chemical differences in compounds to facilitate
their separation. Our research in gas separations may also be significant for
the pharmaceutical industry. Our team has secured several patents covering our discoveries.
