Thermochemistry

SRI's thermochemistry research area encompasses the study and management of thermochemical databases. The lab works with chemical kinetics, solid state chemistry, high temperature mass spectrometry, thermodynamics of vaporization processes, and the oxidation and corrosion of materials. We also specialize in gas/solid reactions, modeling of chemical systems and processes, and high vacuum techniques. Applications expertise by our lab extends to combustion processes, metal halide lamp cycles, stabilization of composite fibers, materials compatibility predictions, and microelectronics and protective coatings. Our thermochemistry research is funded primarily by commercial clients, including Ethyl, Osram, and Thomson.
